The main architectural design approach for the addition and alteration to Centrepoint is to enhance shoppers' approach to the mall and provide a different perception of the spatial order within. To achieve this, the facade on the 1st storey is opened up to reveal the basements creating a new atrium at the entrance. The revamped first storey frontage boosts an open concept plaza flaked by popular fashion shops and eateries. The openness of the space blurs the boundaries between the external and interior spaces as shoppers feast on the merchandise in full view from the street level. In the internal spaces of the mall, former mini-anchor tenant spaces are reconfigured to enhance connectivity within the mall and and aims to draw and compel shoppers to discover and experience the space.
